Traditional culture should evolve, develop and grow through their community. While there are defining practices and aesthetic aspects of culture that are identified as customary, what we now consider traditional was once contemporary.

A letter I wrote that was included in the accompanying catalogue for the exhibition Cold Islanders: Art on the Pacific Spectrum. The letter was to my grandmother and reflected on what traditional meant to me as a cold islander (NZ born Pacific Islander)
